Improve Hygiene

Your teenage years are full of life-altering events. Puberty, learning to drive and high school can all consume your every moment. As you grow and develop, a need for good personal hygiene increases. According to the website "Troubled Teen Help," when you hit puberty, your body begins to change, you start growing hair in new places, you can sweat for no reason, and find yourself dealing with body odors you've never had to deal with before. Taking care of your personal hygiene is very important for both your self-esteem and to avoid embarrassment.

General Hygiene for Teens
1. Shower or bathe every day. If you are a teenager who is an athlete, more than one shower a day may be appropriate. By showering daily, you will reduce the smell of underarm odor that starts upon puberty.

2. Shave regularly. Teenage girls generally shave their legs and underarms
. boys will need to begin shaving their faces.

3. Apply deodorant or antiperspirant. According to "Troubled Teen Help," boys usually produce more odor than girls, but deodorant is important for every teenager. If you are prone to sweating, carry a stick in your purse or gym bag at all times, and re-apply when necessary.

4. Brush your teeth each morning and night. Brushing a third time after lunch is ideal, but often not practical. It is also a good idea to carry a small bottle of mouthwash in your purse or vehicle.

5. Brush your hair before going out in public. You don't have to create a masterpiece, but at least comb the bedhead.

6. Wear clean, unwrinkled clothes. Many teenagers haphazardly throw clothes around their rooms and they stay in the spot where they land. Crumpled or dirty clothes should not be worn in public.
Dealing with Acne

7.Wash your face and skin to keep it clear of oil and bacteria. Washing your face daily will remove dead skin cells and kill the bacteria that cause acne.

8. Eat a well-balanced diet. Eating properly is not only good for your health, it is also good for your complexion. Foods rich in fiber and zinc, as well as raw foods, are best for preventing outbreaks, according to 10Acne.com.

9. Avoid particular foods which cause people to be prone to breakouts. According to 10Acne.com, you should avoid dairy products, caffeine, alcohol, sugar, processed foods and foods high in iodine.

10. Use acne medicines and creams to fight existing acne or prevent future outbreaks. Due to differing types of skin, there is no one acne treatment best suited for everyone alike, and choosing the right one can be confusing. Visit 10Acne.com to distinguish which treatment is right for your particular skin type.
